Our Set of 4 Green Sand Trowels are a versatile and valuable addition to both Dry Sand and Wet Sand Areas. These child-friendly tools support a wide range of learning opportunities across the EYFS, from creative construction to early mark making.
In the Dry Sand Area, children can use the trowels to flatten and smooth the surface, preparing it to create small world scenes using wild animals.In the Wet Sand Area, children can use the trowels to shape and mould sand castles or structures, smoothing out any lumps and bumps before embellishing them with shells or rainbow windmills, encouraging children’s fine motor skills, imaginative thinking and creativity.
Sand also offers a rich medium for early mark making. Children can use the trowels to smooth out the sand before using fingers or wooden pieces to make marks and impressions. When ready, they can use the trowel again to create a fresh new canvas for more mark making.
